Join others who have made a lasting impact in the Mahoosuc Region by making planned gifts.
Planned Giving through your will or other estate planning can make your impact on future conservation of the Mahoosuc Region more than you might have thought possible. Some planned gifts provide life-long income to the donor. Other gift plans use estate and tax planning to provide for Mahoosuc Land Trust and your heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on your estate. Many planned gifts cost nothing during your lifetime, and may offer tax advantages to you.
Leave a bequest to MLT. This is a gift that transfers at death by will or trust, and could be a specified amount or asset, or a percentage of your estate. Your estate is reduced by the fair market value of a charitable gift, potentially reducing the impact of the federal transfer tax on the estate. Unlike some other planned giving options, bequests allow you to change your mind at any time. (Here is sample will language).
